MIDWAY, Ky. – The IU Kokomo men's basketball team returned to their winning ways Tuesday night with a 58-41 road win at Midway. With the conference win, the Cougars are now 6-3 overall, and 2-0 in River States Conference play.
Hunter White had a game-high 16 points and was one of three Cougars that scored in double-figures.
Julien Hunter was a perfect 7-7 from the field and had 15 points, while freshman Ty Wills continued to impress with 14 points.
Zach Rinehart was a menace on the glass, grabbing 14 rebounds.
IU Kokomo got off to a slow-start on the offensive end Tuesday evening, as Midway led 6-1 three and a half minutes into the game. A Ty Wills layup eventually tied the game at 17 before an Evan Kretz three-ball a couple of possessions later gave the Cougars their first lead of the night at 20-19.

Hunter White's 16 points on the night came in the first half, with most of them coming in transition. Trailing 22-20 with 4:15 remaining in the first half, the Cougars finished the half on an 8-0 run to take a 28-22 lead into halftime.
IU Kokomo dominated second-half play, outscoring the Eagles 30-19. Midway managed to trim the IU Kokomo lead to four at 32-28 but the Cougars answered with ten-straight points to take a commanding 14-point lead.
The Eagles were not able to trim the Cougar lead to single-digits, and IU Kokomo cruised in the second-half to a 58-41 conference win at Midway.
The Cougars will return to action Saturday afternoon as they welcome IU Southeast to the Student Activities and Events Center. Tip-off is set for 3:00 P.M.
