OWENSBORO, Ky. – The IU Kokomo men's basketball team used a strong second-half performance to surge past Brescia for an 85-70 win Saturday afternoon. The Cougars are now 9-3 overall and 5-0 in RSC play after their fourth-consecutive win.

Brescia outscored IU Kokomo by nine in the first half but the Cougars asnwered the bell in the second half, outscoring the Bearcats by 24 to earn the road victory.

Julien Hunter continued his strong play, this time scoring 29 points to lead all scorers. Hunter was 12-16 from the field on the afternoon. Ty Wills had 15 points and Hunter Jackson added 11.

Senior guard Hunter White stuffed the stat-sheet Saturday, scoring 13 points and grabbing nine rebounds while dishing eight assists. Zach Rinehart had a game-high 12 rebounds.

The Cougars got out to an early 4-0 lead thanks to buckets from Dell DeMyers and Julien Hunter. Brescia battled back to take a 7-5 lead in what was a back-and-forth first half.

IU Kokomo extended the lead to nine at 18-9, but Brescia scored six straight to cut the lead to three. The Bearcats regained the lead at 23-22 and led for the remainder of the half. Brescia tacked on to their lead late in the first half and led 39-30 at halftime.

The Cougars responded well out of halftime, tying the game at 43 five minutes into the second half. With the game tied at 43, the Cougars scored 15 of the next 17 points for a 58-45 lead with 9:45 remaining in the game.

IU Kokomo led by as many as 19 in the second-half and went on to beat Brescia 85-70. 

The Cougars will return to play Tuesday, December 20th, as they travel to northern Indiana to take on IU Northwest.
