CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio. - The Indiana University Kokomo baseball team split Sunday's doubleheader at Ohio Christian, winning game one 12-2 before dropping game two 9-7.

Game One Offensively

• The Cougars got the scoring started in the top of the first, Riley Garczynski reached on error and would score on a Jarod Gillespie single for a 1-0 IUK lead.
• IUK scored six runs on four hits and one OCU error for a 7-0 lead through three innings. Garczynski singled and scored on a Tucker Platt single before Platt & Gillespie scored on an error. Noah Hurlock came through with a three-run bomb to cap off the six run inning.
• The Cougs added three in the fourth on three hits. Garczynski once again got things going with a single before scoring on a Jack Leverenz single. Leverenz and Nolan Bowser would both score on a Luke Barnes single to make it 10-0.
• Leverenz doubled to lead off the seventh, and scored on a Jonathan Latham single. Latham would score the Cougars final run on a Thomas Obergell single.
• Ohio Christian could only manage two runs in the bottom of the seventh with their backs against the wall, as Lucas Letsinger put the finishing touches on a 12-2 run-rule win for IU Kokomo.

Game One Pitching

• Lucas Letsinger continued his stretch of strong performances Sunday, throwing a complete game and allowing two earned runs on three hits and no walks while striking out five. Letsinger improved to 5-2 on the year with the win.

Game Two Offensively

• IU Kokomo fell behind early, as Ohio Christian struck for seven runs on seven hits in the bottom of the first.
• The Cougars would get two back in the second, as Barnes singled and scored on a Dylan Janke single before scoring on a Hurlock single.
• IUK cut the deficit to three at 7-4 with two more runs in the top of the third. Bowser singled and scored an unearned run before Platt scored on a Barnes sac-fly after singling.
• The Trailblazers added a run in the fourth to lead 8-4 through four innings.
• Platt reached on error in the top of the fifth for IUK before scoring on a Leverenz single, making it 8-5 OCU.
• Ohio Christian manufactured their final run of the game in the fifth, extending their lead back to four at 9-5.
• Bowser scored on a Gillespie double and Gillespie scored on a Platt single in the top of the seventh, but the Cougars were unable to tie it up, dropping game two 9-7.

Game Two Pitching

• Ben Harris took the loss, allowing seven runs (five earned) on seven hits.
• Brandon Bulteiemer pitched 3.2 innings in relief after Dylan Steele got the second out of the inning. Bultemeier gave up two earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three.
• Connor Hurt tossed the final 1.1 innings, allowing no runs on one hit.

The rubber match is set for Monday afternoon at 2:00 PM ET.
