KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo Women's Soccer team faced off against the University of St. Francis (Ill.) at Kokomo Municipal Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw. This was the Cougars' second draw of the season, bringing their record to 1-2-2. 

St. Francis controlled the first half offensively, outshooting IU Kokomo 10-5 and taking five corner kicks to IUK's two. Despite the Cougars' struggles to get the ball downfield, the teams would both go scoreless in the first half.

The Saints would strike first, scoring a goal in the 55th minute. However, just when it seemed as if the Fighting Saints were running away with a 1-0 win, IU Kokomo would respond in the 81st minute. Kelsi Hoot sent a ball into the box, finding Mackenzie Gibbons who then found the back of the net to tie the match at 1-1.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sydney Miller got the start in net, making eight saves on nine shots on goal.

The Cougars will be back in action Wednesday for a neutral site match against Governors State University, before returning home on Friday to face off against Sienna Heights. Wednesday's match will be played at Crown Point Sportsplex in Crown Point, Indiana.
