BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The IU Kokomo women's indoor track and field team traveled to Bloomington Friday to compete against mainly NCAA Division I in IU's Early Bird Meet, held inside the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse.
Sophomore thrower
Sydney Duncan picked up where she left off in May, winning Shot Put Friday with an astounding throw of 16.46 meters. Duncan's mark not only cleared an all NCAA DI field by 3.3 meters, but it is good for an NAIA "A" standard, the longest toss of the NAIA indoor season to this point, and a new school record.
Duncan joins teammate
Maddie Dotlich as the two Cougars who have punched their ticket to 2025 NAIA Indoor Nationals through two meets on the season.
Freshman
Jada Henson finished tenth in Shot Put with the fourth best mark in program history, a throw of 10.74 meters.
Marion product
Jackie Williams excelled Friday at IU, turning in the second best 200 meter dash time (27.39) and third best 60 meter dash time (8.38) in program history.
Fellow freshman
Iyonna Lange delivered a PR of 29.74 in the 200 meter dash while recording the programs seventh fastest 60 meter dash time (8.65) ever.
Addyson Preston also finished the 200 meter dash with a PR, finishing a spot behind Lange with a time of 30.40.
Sophomore
Jaydi Jones finished the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:04.21, good for second fastest in program history.
