MIDDLETOWN, Ohio. - IU Kokomo Men's Basketball student-athletes
Max Newman,
Noah Harris, and
Evan Kretz were all honored by the River States Conference as All-Conference selections, the league office announced Wednesday.
Senior
Max Newman was named First Team All-Conference while both
Noah Harris and
Evan Kretz earned Second Team All-Conference honors.
Max Newman, a journeyman in his second year at IU Kokomo, leads the Cougars in both scoring and rebounding, having surpassed the 1,000 career point threshold this season. Newman has totaled 477 points (16.4 ppg), 289 rebounds (10.0 rpg), and 90 assists this year, while collecting 14 double-doubles.
Fellow senior
Noah Harris has nearly doubled his scoring output from a season ago, and sits just 22 points away from the 1,000 career point mark. Harris has tallied 437 points (15.1 ppg), 189 rebounds (6.5 rpg), and 52 assists this season, also earning five double-doubles.
Nearby Western High School product
Evan Kretz has enjoyed a breakout junior campaign, recording 392 points (14.5 ppg) and nearly tripling his scoring output from a year ago. Kretz pulled down 121 boards (4.5 rpg) while shooting 44% from beyond-the-arc.
Fresh off a 66-46 win over Rio Grande in the River States Conference Championship Quarterfinals Wednesday night, the Cougars will now host IU Southeast Saturday at 3:00 PM for a spot in next week's RSC Championship game.
