Women's Soccer Closes Non-Conference Play with 3-2 Win Over UC-Clermont

KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo women's soccer team hosted Cincinnati-Clermont Wednesday night at Kokomo Municipal Stadium in the final non-conference match of the season, emerging victorious thanks to a go-ahead goal in the 72nd minute.

THE RUNDOWN 
  • After a bit of a slow start in the opening minutes of the match, IU Kokomo scored a pair of goals in the opening 20 minutes for an early two-goal lead.
  • Avery WIlson scored her second collegiate goal to open the scoring in the 15th minute.
  • Kaiya Money added her third goal of the year less than 15 minutes later, corralling a rebound and beating the goalkeeper for a 2-0 lead.
  • Cincinnati-Clermont managed to keep the deficit at two until they found the score sheet in the 62nd minute, pulling within a goal with less than 30 minutes remaining. 
  • The Cougars of UC-Clermont evened the match 2-2 with another goal in the 71st minute, yet the match did not remain tied for long.
  • Kaiya Bogers assisted on Kaiya Money's go-ahead goal for IU Kokomo in the 72nd minute, as the Cougars closed out Cincinnati-Clermont down the stretch for a 3-2 victory.
