KOKOMO, Ind. - IU Kokomo women's basketball returned to the win column Tuesday night with a 24-point home victory over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, improving the Cougars to .500 on the season.

THE RUNDOWN 

• Saint Mary-of-the-Woods scored the opening basket before IU Kokomo responded with seven straight points to take a five-point lead. An Anya Friend triple in the final seconds of the quarter pushed the Cougars ahead 19–11 after one.
• The Cougars carried the momentum into the second quarter, opening the period with nine straight points to stretch the lead to 17 midway through the frame. IU Kokomo headed into halftime with the Pomeroys doubled up, 40–20.
• IU Kokomo eased up offensively in the second half, allowing the Pomeroys to stay close through the third and fourth quarters. Despite being outscored by just four points in the second half, the Cougars' early lead carried them to a comfortable 75–51 victory, improving to 4–3 in River States Conference play.

LEADING THE CHARGE

• Eleven of the 12 Cougars who saw action scored in the win, including three in double figures. Kelsi Langley led all scorers with 12 points, shooting 4-of-8 from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 at the free-throw line, while also grabbing nine rebounds.
• Mia Catey followed with 11 points and 12 rebounds for her fourth double-double of her senior season, while Mackenzie York added 10 points.
• Anya Friend knocked down three triples for nine points, while Cameryn Rector chipped in eight points and dished out a game-high seven assists.
