KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo men's basketball team extended its winning streak to 11 games Friday afternoon, rolling past the WVU Tech Golden Bears 88–69 behind a historic performance from
Alonzo Clawson-Smith.
Clawson-Smith finished with 21 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds, recording the program's first triple-double while tying the single-game assist record. IU Kokomo shot 10-of-17 from three-point range, including 8-of-11 in the first half, and secured its fourth straight double-digit win.

THE RUNDOWN
- IU Kokomo controlled the first half from start to finish, shooting 65% from the field and 72% from three-point range while limiting WVU Tech to 35% shooting, despite the Golden Bears hitting six three-pointers.
- The Cougars scored the first six points and 19 of the first 22 to take a 16-point lead less than eight minutes into the game. Fueled by a first-half double-double from Alonzo Clawson-Smith (12 points, 10 assists) and 16 points from Jake McGraw, IU Kokomo built a 52-31 lead at halftime.
- WVU Tech outscored IU Kokomo in the second half, but the Cougars' 21-point first-half lead proved insurmountable, with the Golden Bears closing no closer than 18 after trailing by as many as 29 in the second half.
- The freshman trio of Clawson-Smith, McGraw, and Patric Matson scored 27 of IU Kokomo's 36 second-half points as the Cougars cruised to an 88-69 home win over WVU Tech.
LEADING THE CHARGE
- Frankfort native and Clinton Prairie product Jake McGraw posted his third 20-point game in four outings, scoring a game-high 24 points while grabbing 13 rebounds for his third career double-double.
- As mentioned, freshman Alonzo Clawson-Smith had a historic performance, recording the program's first career triple-double while tying the single-game assist record previously set by current associate head coach Tre'Quan Spivey on Jan. 20, 2022. Clawson-Smith finished with 21 points, 13 assists, 11 rebounds, and a game-high four steals.
- All three IU Kokomo student-athletes to reach double figures Friday were freshmen, with Bedford's Patric Matson adding 15 points, including three three-pointers, in the win.
- Howard County's own Evan Kretz also hit three three-pointers in the win, marking the senior's eighth game this season with three or more triples.
