KOKOMO, Ind. - Five Cougars scored in double-figures Tuesday night as the IU Kokomo men's basketball team dominated Midway in an 83-56 win. The victory moves the Cougars to 19-6 on the year and 13-2 in conference play.

IU Kokomo and Midway traded buckets for much of the opening five minutes, but a jumper from Nick Keeton gave the Eagles a 10-7 lead and forced an IUK timeout. Xaver Hines knocked down a three out of the timeout to tie at ten, but the Cougars were unable to take the lead for the time being. 

Trailing 17-14, IU Kokomo went on a 12-0 run to take a 26-17 lead with less than ten minutes left. After Midway's leading scorer Donnie Miller scored to stop the IUK run and make it a 26-19 game, the Cougars went on another run, this time of the 10-0 variety for a 36-19 lead with under four minutes to play. IUK led 37-24 at the half.

IU Kokomo opened the half strong, scoring the first seven-points for a 44-26 lead. After allowing an Eagles bucket, the Cougars scored 13-straight for a 29-point lead at 57-28. The Cougars extended the lead to 30 with 10:18 remaining and never let the lead drop below 27, beating Midway 83-56.

Zach Rinehart led IU Kokomo in scoring with 12 points, while also grabbing six rebounds. Hunter White and Noah Harris each had 11 points, while White added seven assists and Harris added five boards and three assists.

Darian Porch and Xavier Hines each scored ten points, and Porch also contributed six rebounds. Hunter Jackson played well, going 3-3 from the field including 2-2 from beyond-the-arc.

The Cougars will be back-in-action Saturday afternoon as they travel to New Albany to take on IU Southeast. Tip-off is set for 3:00 P.M.
