The Cougars enter the week 14-9 overall and 6-2 in RSC play, and are winners of two-straight after taking both games from Alice Lloyd last week at home. The Cougars have enjoyed success both on the mound and at the plate this season, with five different Cougars earning RSC Player of the Week honors to this point.
Jarod Gillespie leads IU Kokomo offensively, as he is hitting .481, while
Tucker Platt is batting .404. Gillespie has 25 hits and Platt has 23 so far. On the mound, the Cougs are led by
Lucas Letsinger who has a record of 4-2 and an ERA of 2.21. Sophomore RHP
Mason Whiteley has pitched well and is IUK's most recent RSC Pitcher of the Week winner.
Ohio Christian comes into the weekend with an overall record of 7-18 and an RSC mark of 4-5. The Trailblazers have lost three straight games, losing the final two games to IU Southeast last weekend before dropping a midweek game to Bluefield College.
Tanner Popp leads the OCU pitching staff with an ERA of 2.77 in 39 innings of work. Carter Smith leads the Trailblazers offensively, batting .352 with 32 hits in 91 at-bats.
IU Kokomo is 15-0 all-time against Ohio Christian.
