KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo men's basketball team fell to the WVU Tech Golden Bears on Saturday, losing by a final score of 85-77. With the loss, the Cougars hold an overall record of 14-4 this season and a 4-4 record in conference games.

The Cougars fell behind 8-4 early in the first half, before scoring eight unanswered points to lead WVU Tech 12-8. The Golden Bears responded with their own offensive surge to lead 24-16 at the midpoint of the opening half.

IUK cut their deficit to five after Joseph Annan Jr.'s and-one layup, but WVU Tech quickly re-built their lead back to 10. By halftime, the Cougars were trailing 44-31.

In the second half, early layups by Dell Demeyers, Chris Chin, and Max Newman brought IU Kokomo back with-in 10 points, before a pair of free throws and a layup from Noah Harris cut the deficit to six with 10 minutes remaining.

The Cougars continued to storm back, trailing by just 1 point after a three-pointer from Dell Demeyers. Unfortunately, the Cougars were unable to overtake the Golden Bears in the final moments of the game, ultimately losing by a final score of 85-77.

Noah Harris was the Cougars' top scorer in the loss with 18 points. Chris Chin was next with 15 points, followed by Dell Demeyers with 14 points.

Next week, the Cougars will play back to back road games against Shawnee State on Thursday and Point Park on Saturday.
