MARION, Ind. - The full roster of Cougars opened their outdoor season at nearby Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday. The women were able to have many strong performances and school records while fighting through the cold weather.
Freshmen Sydney Duncan had a phenomenal indoor season that was capped off by an All-American performance in shot put. She continued her excellence into her outdoor debut by hitting the NAIA "A" standard in shot put. Her mark of 13.78m also set a new school record.
Duncan continued the record breaking with a new school record mark of 43.63m in the hammer throw.
The Women's 4x100m relay team of Lalah Boyd, Rebekah Ankrum, Jaydi Jones, and Paige Brooks set a new school record with a time of 53.08 to finish second overall.
Hannah Wells set a new school record in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:34.43.
Senior Emma Byrum threw 35.61m in javelin to finish second overall.

The Cougars will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to Marian University.
