PERU, Ind. - The IU Kokomo men's golf team captured its first victory of the 2025–26 season, claiming the team title at the Holy Cross Fall Invitational held Friday and Saturday at Rock Hollow Golf Club.

THE RUNDOWN 

• The Cougars opened with a 309 on Friday to take a four-stroke lead into the final round, then followed with their best round of the season, a 298 on Saturday, to secure the team title with a two-round total of 607 (+31). Aquinas (Mich.) claimed second place with a two-round total of 628 (+52), followed by Holy Cross in third at 636 (+60).
• Senior Hayden Williamson led IU Kokomo, rebounding from an opening-round 80 with an impressive 3-under 69 in Saturday's final round. His strong comeback earned him a spot in a two-man playoff, but he narrowly fell short after a spectacular second shot on the first playoff hole by Aquinas' Ben Holloway.
• Oliver Gearlds just missed the playoff by two strokes, posting steady rounds of 76 and 75 for a two-round total of 151 (+7), earning a third-place finish.
• Luke Watson became the third Cougar to place in the top five, finishing fifth with rounds of 74 and 82 for a two-round total of 156 (+12).
• Freshman Nathan Daugherty made a strong impression with a top-10 finish, placing sixth with rounds of 79 and 78 for a two-round total of 157 (+13).
• Lucas Miller made a strong comeback after a tough first day, improving by 11 strokes to finish 13th with a two-round total of 163 (+19).
