WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The IU Kokomo Women's Outdoor Track & Field team opened their 2025 season this weekend in Kentucky, competing in University of the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet.
Faith Rock enjoyed a strong start to her outdoor season, as she finished first in both Shot Put and Discus. After winning the Discus with a mark of 37.84 meters, Rock won the Shot Put with a toss of 11.77 meters.Â
Hannah Wells was the Cougars lone other winner on the weekend, as she won the 5k with a time of 19:17.92.
Leslie Sprankles ran well in the 800 Meter, finishing second in a time of 2:25.28, while teammate
Keeley Carpenter followed in fifth.Â
In the 3,000 Meter Racewalk,
Maddie Dotlich settled for a third-place finish behind a pair of River States Conference foes. Dotlich crossed the line in a time of 31:32.25.
Jaydi Jones (200 Meter Dash),
Lily Greene (High Jump), and
Gracie Conklin-Davis (Hammer Throw) all improved to third all-time in IU Kokomo history in their respective outdoor events over the weekend, while Conklin-Davis also improved to fourth all-time in Javelin as did
Jada Henson in Shot Put.
The Cougars will head to South Carolina this week as they will take to Myrtle Beach while on Spring Break this week to compete in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.
