ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Indiana University Kokomo Women's Outdoor Track & Field team competed Friday and Saturday in NCAA Division II Grand Valley State's Early Meet.
Sydney Duncan led the Cougars in Michigan once again, this time punching her ticket to the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Discus (Invitational) with an NAIA "B" standard performance, also winning the Shot Put (Invitational).
Shot Put was held Friday, and Duncan took care of business as she has done all indoor/outdoor season. She won the event with a mark of 15.73 meters, winning by 0.30 meters over Grand Valley State's Mackenzie Bohrer. Sydney carried that momentum over to Discus on Saturday, where she finished third with a "B" standard throw of 47.19 meters. That mark is a new school record and good for #1 in the River States Conference, plus #5 in the NAIA.
Fellow thrower
Faith Rock also excelled in Discus (Open) Saturday, finishing fifth of 18 competitors with a toss of 39.11 meters, good for #2 all time in program history and second in the RSC behind Duncan.
Sophomore
Jaydi Jones finished 10th in the 400 Friday, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:03.21 to sit second all-time in the program record books.
Experienced distance runner
Hannah Wells had another successful weekend, turning in a time of 4:52.08 in the 1500 to improve to third all-time in school history. Wells, along with
