Hailey Stegemann earned Individual Medalist honors Friday at the Trine University Spring Classic, held at the beautiful Zollner Golf Course.
The Cougars turned in a team score of 355 (+67) to finish fourth of 11 teams, two strokes clear of fifth-place Albion. Saint Mary's (IN) earned the team title with a round of 327 (+39), beating out the host Thunder by just two strokes.
Cincinnati native
Hailey Stegemann picked up her first collegiate victory of her career Friday, firing a 76 (+4) to earn Individual Medalist honors by a stroke over Trine's Rylee Smith and 57 other golfers. As mentioned, Hailey came to IU Kokomo this past fall looking to return to the form she once had prior to injury, having spent the first few years of her career at NCAA Division I Tennessee Tech.
Freshman
Stefanie Dickerson delivered the Cougars second-best individual finish Friday, firing an 85 (+13) to finish T-13th.
Anna Hutchings followed in T-21st, carding an 89 (+17), while sophomore
Carly Chandler rounded out the IU Kokomo lineup with a 46th-place finish.
The Cougars will close out the 2024-2025 season with the 2025 River States Conference Championship, held April 27th-29th at Glade Springs Golf Resort in Daniels, West Virginia. Both the Team Champion and Individual Medalist will advance to the this year's NAIA Women's Golf National Championship.
