KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo men's basketball team is set to play in NAIA's "The Show" this weekend in Kinsport, Tennessee. The Cougars will play Union College Saturday before taking on future RSC foe Shawnee State Sunday.

IU Kokomo enters the weekend winners of two straight, and are 4-1 on the season. The Cougs beat IU East 84-77 last time out on Tuesday November 15, and come into the neutral-site event on ten-days rest.

Hunter White has led the Cougars offensively so far this season, and is fresh off of a 24 point, seven assist, six steal, and five rebound performance in the conference opening win over IU East. White's impressive night against the Red Wolves earned him River States Conference Player of the Week honors.

The Cougars will open up play at "The Show" Saturday afternoon with a matchup against the #19 Bulldogs of Union College (Ky.). The Bulldogs are 7-0 on the year, and beat IU Kokomo's second opponent of the weekend, Shawnee State, 88-85 in the season opener. IU Kokomo is 1-0 all-time against Union College, having beat the Bulldogs 89-83 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the NAIA National Tournament in the 2018-19 season.

Union College is second in the nation in three categories as a team, including field goal attempts per game, offensive rebounds per game, and total rebounds per game. 

IU Kokomo's second and final game of the weekend will be against the Bears of Shawnee State. The Bears will join the River States Conference next fall, and just like IU Kokomo, Shawnee State is receiving votes in the latest NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Poll.

Shawnee State has struggled out of the gates to a 2-5 record, but all five losses are by single-digits. The Cougars are 0-1 all-time against the Bears, having lost by 18 back in the 2013-2014 season.
