INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The IU Kokomo Men's Indoor Track and Field team competed at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Saturday as part of the 2025 Fairgrounds Invitational held inside the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavillion.
Gabe Wedmore led the Cougars Saturday, winning Shot Put before finishing fourth in Weight Throw with a school record toss of 16.31 meters. His winning toss in Shot Put of 15.88 meters was good for another "B" standard.Â
Fellow thrower
Seth Ireland finished third in Shot Put, earning the fourth-spot in the program record books with a toss of 15.13 meters. Younger brother,
Isaac Ireland, holds the fourth spot in the Weight Throw record books, delivering a toss of 14.34 meters.
Tanner Gibson impressed on the weekend on the sprints side of things, turning in a pair of times in the 60 meters (7.03 seconds) and 200 meters (22.94 seconds) that are both good for second all-time in program history.Â
Freshman
Ayden Potts became the fastest freshman in school history in the mile, as he finished in a time of 4:32.12, also good for second all-time in program history. Teammate
Isaiah Kanable turned in the fourth-fastest time, crossing the line in a time of 4:36.25.
The Cougars will head to Marietta, Ohio, this week to compete in the 2025 River States Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday and Saturday.
