MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Indiana University Kokomo freshman student-athlete Jacob Bumgardner has earned River States Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors for the first time of his collegiate career, as announced by the league office earlier this week.

Howard County native and Northwestern HS alum Jacob Bumgardner won the 3000 meter race walk at Olivet Nazarene Friday, earning himself a trip to the NAIA Indoor Nationals by finishing with a "B" standard time of 16:11.05.

Bumgardner is currently ranked 19th in the nation in the Racewalk, as the NAIA Indoor National Championships loom at the end of the month.
